ABOUT US

Our Core Values

  • Word Centered

We have a focus and reliance on the Bible as the central, authoritative source of truth and guidance in a Christian's life. At its core, it emphasizes the importance of scripture in shaping beliefs, values, and actions, ensuring that the teachings and principles found in the Bible are at the heart of one's faith journey.

  • Spirit Lead

At Legacy Ashland, being "Spirit Lead" means allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and influence every aspect of our lives and ministry. This involves being open to the Spirit's direction, listening for God's voice, and responding in obedience. Whether it is through worship, service, or engaging with scripture, we seek to be led by the Spirit in all that we do. Being Spirit Lead encompasses:

  • Courageous Faith

Courageous faith at Legacy Ashland refers to the unwavering commitment and bravery in living out one's beliefs and values despite challenges, opposition, or uncertainty. It involves stepping out in faith, even when the path is unclear, trusting in God's guidance and provision.

  • Sacrificial Love

Sacrificial Love: Another crucial pillar within the foundation at Legacy Ashland is sacrificial love. This concept is deeply intertwined with the teachings of Christ, who exemplified the ultimate act of love through His sacrifice on the cross. Sacrificial love calls for a selfless dedication to the well-being and growth of others, often at the expense of one's own comfort or desires.

  • Growth Expected

Growth Expected: The church community at Legacy Ashland is poised for significant growth, driven by its unwavering commitment to courageous faith and sacrificial love. This growth is not merely numerical but deeply rooted in the spiritual maturity and development of its members. As individuals embrace these core values, they are empowered to step into their God-given purposes, leading to a vibrant and dynamic community of believers.

The values we believe in

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. (Matt 3:16-17, Heb 1:8-9, John 16:13-14)

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself. (Psalm 119:160, 2 Tim 3:16, John 1:14)

Mankind and the Fall

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations. (Genesis 1 - 2)

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time. (Genesis 3:15, Romans 5:12-15)

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.       (Eph 2:8-9, John 3:17-18, Heb 10:14)

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Matt 28:18-20, Eph 4:1-6, Col 1:17-18)

Resurrection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth. (1 Cor 15:13-16, Luke 24:39, 1 Cor 3:11-15)

What to Expect at Legacy Ashland Worship Service?

  • When and where is Worship Service

Legacy Ashland is located in downtown Ashland, KY at 1701 Winchester Ave.  We have 11 AM service on Sunday Morning and a 6:30 pm Service on Wednesday.

  • What is Worship Service like?

You can be expected to be greeted by friendly greeters and a church filled with the love of Christ.  We have coffee and snacks available and someone will be able to answer any question you might have.  We start service by worshiping with music and prayer.  That is followed up by teaching from the word of God through Scripture.

  • What about my Kids?

Our vision of helping all people find and follow Jesus together applies to our Next Gen Legacy Kids, not just adults. Both Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, our kids experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way. The safety and security of your children is extremely important to us. We utilize a detailed check-in system and training of our staff and volunteers to ensure the safety of your children while you worship on Sundays or attend bible studies on Wednesday nights.

  • What should I wear?

At Legacy Ashland we believe you should come to God as you are. For some that means wearing jeans and t-shirts, for others that means dresses or coats and dress pants. While we do believe a part of worship is giving our best to God, we also believe that everyone’s “best” varies and we hold to the biblical truth that “man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
